If you’re not an Access Fund member, what are you?

Climbing is growing. Personally, I think growth in climbing is a good thing. If climbing didn’t grow–I wouldn’t be climbing and you wouldn’t be climbing.

Not too long ago it was announced that climbing wasn’t short listed for the Olympics in 2020. The comments ensued–most climbers didn’t care if climbing was in the Olympics or not. Generally, they saw it as a great thing. Arguing that kind of attention on climbing would result in unwanted increased traffic at the crags and environmental impact.

Ignite Boulder 21: I thought it would be easy.

In December last year I bought a ticket to the next Ignite Boulder event to see what it was all about. I wanted to see if it was something I could do. The format is unique. Here’s how it works:

“Ignite Boulder is a night of geeky presentations with a twist. Presenting on a subject of their choice, speakers have exactly 5 minutes to teach something, enlighten us or simply inspire—-backed by 20 slides auto-advancing every 15 seconds.”

The event was killer. I made it my new years resolution to try speaking at the next event.

10 Tools & Resources

Since its inception in 2008, I’ve been taking care of the LT11.com website myself. In the beginning we simply found free WordPress Themes for our site. Then we started purchasing higher quality themes. As time went on–I started customizing our themes to better serve our purposes. As the customizations got more and more involved–I learned more and more. After many, many customizations to all the sites across the LT11 domain over the years–I now felt confident I could build a theme on my own without using a fully designed template as a starting point.
